South-East Asia has the World highest death rate from snake bites. Cambodia needs to examine this problem and to train local population. The fast application of the first aid for snakebites is vital. Agricultural and tropical regions in Cambodia report more bites than anywhere else in the region. Victims are usually farmers and children. More than 85% of the Cambodian population lives in the villages and farms and are at everyday risk to get a snake bite. Hand of Help is a non-profit organization working in first aid and propagating to the people knowledge about the danger of snake bites. Our main goals are: 1. To provide all Cambodian people being victim of a snake bite with a professional treatment and care service free of charge. 2. To reduce to the minimum the deaths and the invalids due to the snake bites. 3. To teach local health officers how to use the antivenin and identify the snakes. 4. To explain to the people living near forests to not kill non-venomous snakes (what is a common practice). Because it affects the unique, complex biological systems of Cambodia. 5. To publish and distribute brochures and books showing pictures of snakes in Cambodia, in order to make easy the reading for an emergency assistance. During the first 3 months of our work we have provided first aid to 59 people, 36 children being victims of snake bites. Budget structure How to sponsor our mission?
