Organization DescriptionHand of Help is a non-profit organization, working in first aid and disseminating knowledge about the danger of snake bites and bites of other dangerous animals. With our help Cambodian people being victim of a snake bite shall receive a qualified treatment and care service free of charge. We aim to reduce to the minimum the deaths and the invalids due to bite of snakes and bites of other dangerous animals. We teach health officers how to use the antivenin and identify the snakes and we explain to the people living near forests why they should not kill non-venomous snakes - this shall affect the mixed biological system. We also print books with pictures of snakes in Kingdom of Cambodia. It helps to recognise the species of snakes easier in order to provide urgent medical assistance. VisionHand of Help is a non-government organization. It is neutral, it has no racial, color and religion discrimination. It is apolitical and not an upholder of any political party and, in this way. It does not supply means, material, finance and human resources in order to support any candidate or people. It serves only the interests of the public and working in first aid and propagating to the people knowledge the danger of snake bite and bites of other dangerous animals. MissionThe goal is to take part, as a partner with the Government, in propagating to the people knowledge the danger of snake bite to reduce to the minimum the deaths and the invalids. History/BackgroundHand of Help organization is incorporated in April 2009. The Hand Of Help Cambodia NGO is a charity organization whose basic aim is firs aid for people being victim of a snake bite and medical assistance more accessible to local residents. The organization is oriented to a very pressing problem, but one which is not officially acknowledged in Cambodia itself: the high incidence of death from snakebite.
